Why do people hate conor oberst
Look into him, please I always thought it was his Robert Smith impersonation This is the worst 'Bright Eyes hate' thread yet. Your all just wishing people would love you for who you are and the way you express yourself in your music. This thread needs more googlers. Conor-hating is so five months ago.
ILM, please keep up! Curt1s OTM. And I'm sorry to say so, but I attended one of his shows last year and it was brilliant. And I am not even especially into his work, let alone one of his indie asshat fans. Kelly, if everyone loved Conor as much as you, the entire universe would swerve off balance, jeopardizing the existence of every living thing.

Conor O'burst has amazing talent - yeah, he may not have the greatest musical talent, but his ability to portray passion through his music is amazing. People connect with the lyrics he rights, because people go through the same shit.
So to bag him is bagging human emotion. And to do that is just heartless. I don't know all about this 'egomaniac' argument because i live in australia and he's not exactly a poster boy over here.
Every now and then i might find a little column on him written in rolling stone, but that's it. If he was truly an egomaniac, wouldn't i hear of him a lot more? Wouldn't he fucking tour here?
It's hard to condemn to death anyone so cute who strikes a chord with so many sensitive young girls. When that boy goes into the studio to record a song, all that can possibly emerge from his collapsing little frame is total and utter T-O-R-T-U-R-E!

He's put together some of the most beautiful songs I've heard recorded in the past few years. I find him to be a wonderful poet that knows just how much or how little musical accompaniment to add. His lyrics and the variety of each of his records are quite amazing. Thank you for making a thread about this. People should learn more about the Indy Music instead of the whole stupid Breaking Benjamin and "Headstrong" whatever that song is.

MB: Hip-hop music has done a very good job of maintaining the political context, where they stand and not giving a sh-t what people think.
My feeling is that I think writers in general tend to be self-conscious and it takes a bit of a leap of faith or just not giving a sh-t to write something you know people are going to criticize. We try to be the opposite of apathetic. There are so many young people in America that are apathetic.
Not to beat a point into the ground, but look around. MB: I also think that hip-hop is more of an individual effort.
