But, after I brought it home and opened it, I don't think it's dry erase though I can't find the answer to this anywhere.

The wood has not been treated to make it non-porous so if we use marker on it I don't see it wiping off. This means you have to go to a TON of trouble to write or print out little lists and some how tape them on the board each time you use it. This is very troublesome and time consuming! I've tightened and re-tightened everything but it won't go away.
