The fellow Ghost Whisperer, who Melinda doesn't trust is still in Grandview. Melinda begins having visions that seem to predict the death of a loved one. Melinda visits the Mayor of Grandview and asks him to cancel the memorial dedication they are holding. She speaks to the ghost of a mail person and is looking for a young girl named Kristen. Later, Melinda and Professor Payne search for missing children after their Nanny says that they left with a man named Gabriel.

The Underneath. Jennifer goes to Melinda's store to sell some belongings that came from her deceased parent's house. Melinda then helps Jennifer with her father who died when she was only a toddler. Someone takes photos of Melinda and they show something suspicious. Don't Try This at Home. The Bloody Mary urban legend is revived at the university when a girl goes into a coma, and Melinda must determine if there's truth to the tale or a ghost is involved.

Melinda helps a group of college girls after one of their friends dies and begins to haunt them. Shane tells Melinda that the ghost is of his dead stalker. Melinda soon finds that Shane has not told Melinda the truth about the ghost and confronts him but Shane finds another way to deal with the situation. Weight of What Was. Gabriel returns with pieces of Melinda's past that lead her to discover a deeply buried secret of the town. She travels underground to find it plagued with spirits, good and bad, while also coming across a long-lost relative, in which she has to help her cross over.

Double Exposure. Melinda and Professor Payne meet with another college professor who discloses that she had an affair with a student. That student just passed away after an accident and his girlfriend feels an unconsiderable amount of guilt. Unhappy Medium. Melinda and Jim discuss a kidnapping where the family has contacted a psychic who Melinda believes is telling the family stuff that they want to hear just so he can make money off of them.

Melinda goes and talks to the family and finds that something else has happened to the missing girl. Melinda becomes involved with a couple of ghosts who refuse to cross over after she finds that they are causing trouble for a man and his daughter. The ghosts make Melinda play a game of twenty questions.

Melinda tries to protect a father and daughter from ghosts who are controlling them. All Ghosts Lead to Grandview. A ghost named Daniel died in a fiery car crash and is angry that his parents have left him.

Becca is his only hope and it infuriates him that she is trying to pretend he doesn't exist. With Melinda's help they find Daniel's parents and cross him over into the light.

Holiday Spirit. Melinda is at the house of young boy named Riley and as they're hanging Christmas ornaments on the tree, Melinda tries to get him to open up about the strange things he has seen. Melinda deals with a ghost who thinks he's Santa Claus, and his motives may not be pure.

Melinda helps Ned at his new high were there are several different hauntings. In the process Melinda finds that she is investigating the intricate world of gossip and romance within the high school before she uncovers the reasons for the hauntings. First Do No Harm.

Melinda believes Jim is being haunted by the ghost of a man he tried to save, and all Jim wants to do is somehow communicate his remorse. But Melinda's protectiveness causes conflict between them, and may mask what's really happening. Home But Not Alone. Ned asks Melinda's help when he's injured by what appears to be a ghost haunting his new girlfriend, but as Melinda struggles to solve the mystery of who the ghost is she runs into interference from the girlfriend's family.

Melinda gets to the bottom of it and helps keep the family together. The Gravesitter. After graffiti is repeatedly painted on Melinda's shop doors, she seeks out the town blogger convinced he is the one causing the mischief in an attempt to expose her. Melinda is forced to encounter the dark side of Grandview in order to help the latest ghost cross over.

Melinda is caught up in an investigation that turns a little horror flick when Prof. Payne asks her to help a student whose father mentored him. Melinda investigates the haunting of a college student who wreaks havoc by placing Melinda in scenes from horror movies.

Professor Payne meets Elliot, the brilliant son of one of his old girlfriends. When Payne discovers that the boy is almost years-old, he realizes he may be the boy's father.

This angers his deceased wife. After watching Payne, Elliot, and the boy's mother, Melinda tells Jim she wants to have a baby. Melinda's father comes back into her life, and she must solve the mystery of where he's been and how it relates to a young ghost who won't cross over. Top review. Very well done. The Ghost Whisperer is a really good show that has the potential to be great. The storyline for the pilot was very compelling and touching.

I have watched Medium, but I prefer THe Ghost Whisperer primarily because of the fact that GW deals more with helping earthbound souls find their way to the other side and not about solving crimes. Jennifer Love Hewitt is a joy to watch and the rest of the cast seems to be well suited to their roles. The only problem I had was some of the dialog seemed too campy and a little rough around the edges, but that is common with pilots. I'm really looking forward to seeing more from this one.
